“Over my career with AXA there has been a huge amount of change in the industry as customer expectations and needs evolve, technology enables new sales methods and new ways of working and regulation creates step changes in how we do things.  I have been fortunate to hold both technical specialist roles and those that involve managing departments.  My current role as Head of Retail Lines Portfolio is particularly rewarding.  And while most of my working life to date has been spent with AXA, the diverse group of people I have work with and the varied elements of my roles have allowed me to build a satisfying and rewarding career here.

I started in AXA in 2003 on the Graduate programme working in our AXA Broker support department.  I later worked in HR and Claims before joining the team in Underwriting.  This gave me the opportunity to learn several aspects of the business and work with many different teams.  In Underwriting, I worked as the Private Car Account Manager responsible for our risk appetite, policy covers and portfolio management of our private car accounts.   During that time, I was also involved in cross functional projects working closely with IT, distribution and claims.

As a global organisation, AXA has opportunities to move to different companies in the group and in 2007, I moved to Paris to work as Global P&C Product Manager in AXA’s Head Office in Avenue Matignon for a couple of years.   It was a great experience involving a lot of travel as I worked with all the AXA entities across Europe, Latin America and Asia and it changed how I look at both challenges and opportunities.”
