Educating our future drivers

We’re all too familiar with traffic collisions involving young people. Here at AXA, we believe in supporting our communities.

Together with the PSNI Roadsafe Roadshow we’ve been helping to educate Northern Ireland’s future drivers on the dangers of driving and the importance of road safety. For 18 years we’ve sponsored this valuable road safety experience that aims to inspire our future drivers to be safer on the road.

How does it work?

How does it work?

The PSNI Roadsafe Roadshow mixes theatre, video and first-hand accounts from police and emergency services to expose the dangers of driving. Family members of victims to road accidents will also share their stories.

Each school year, the PSNI Roadsafe Roadshow brings this valuable and unique experience to local communities around Northern Ireland to help support and protect our future drivers across Northern Ireland.

The Power of Storytelling

The Power of Storytelling

  • Make it feel real

The students walk into a club atmosphere with music blaring. The atmosphere is designed to uplift them and make them feel comfortable. The mood changes when an actor playing Craig, an inexperienced young driver, has a tragic accident with his girlfriend in the car. Our actors present a scene that has happened all too often.

  • Experienced first responders

Emergency Services at the scene tell Craig’s story. They share their own experiences and emotions when helping the injured and families of the deceased.

  • Know You Can

The presentation will shock and educate our young people who will have a newfound responsibility to respect the roads.

Most importantly they come away knowing that they can help others by spreading the message of road safety.

"It was really hard-hitting. It has taught me that I should be more aware of who I’m getting a lift with."

Student from Belfast Royal Academy, 12th March 2018

"The PSNI Roadsafe Roadshow was very beneficial, now I know what not to do when I’m in the car and I feel safer."

Student from De La Salle College 16th April 2018

"It really hit hard with the personal stories, you could tell the speakers were genuine and talking about their experiences. They really got the point across and I now know to think twice when I’m in a car."

Student from Theatre At the Mill, 31st January 2018
