When travelling within Europe for 90 days or less, yes, AXA covers you under your existing car insurance NI policy, provided that it is within the active period of your insurance. So, you can plan your road trip to Europe, including member states of the European Union and EEA - Andorra, Monaco, San Marino and Switzerland - knowing that you are safely covered.
What is not covered while I’m driving in Europe?
There are some areas of our car insurance that we do not extend to Europe. So, we ask our policyholders to be mindful of these when driving in Europe. For example, we do not cover car and key rescue - car rescue cover only applies within the UK, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and the Republic of Ireland (excl. islands off the coast).

Are there other considerations I should be aware of?
Under your AXA schedule, remember that you are only insured to drive only your own private car in Europe. This does not include driving vans or car vans, jeep vehicles with no rear seats, vans modified to carry passengers, or any vehicles registered outside the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man.

How do I notify AXA NI of an accident while abroad?
Unfortunately, accidents can happen, and we will be here to help if they do.
